What happened to L’Jarius Sneed? The captain’s best defensive player suffered a head injury compared to the Bengals

Kansas City Captain’s defensive star L’Jarius Sneed left the field early in the AFC Championship Game as he sustained a head injury during the Cincinnati Bengals’ first drive. He was taken off the field and assessed as having a concussion.

Sneed staggered off the field, a clear sign that he may have suffered a concussion. He tried to stop Samaje Perine running against the Bengals but fell clumsily and hit his head on the field.

Sneed was a full-back in the fourth round who has been one of the key pieces in the Captain’s defence since he stepped onto the pitch. He is in his third season on the team.

For Kansas City, any extra game loss could be a big deal, as the Bengals’ main strength is their passing attack, with Joe Burrow having plenty of options in Ja’Marr. Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd. Losing Sneed would be a blow to the Captains trying to stop Cincinnati’s offense.

Sneed was later diagnosed with a concussion and was ruled out for the rest of the match. It was a huge loss for Kansas City.

The captain’s defense thrived in the first half against the Bengals

It’s hard to imagine a better scenario for Kansas City in the first half of the game, completely limiting Cincinnati’s passing ability even without the best tackler.
