West Bengal SSC scam: CBI searches at 6 locations in Delhi, Kolkata | India News


NEW DELHI: CBI on Thursday conducted searches at six locations in Delhi and Kolkata at the headquarters of a software company related to West Bengal School Service Commission (SSC) scam.
Allegations that records were manipulated to prioritize candidates in appointing teachers brought the company’s role to the scanner, officials said.

After being held in ED custody until August 5 after being arrested on July 23, Chatterjee and Mukherjee were brought to court by the PMLA (Money Laundering Act) court.
Chatterjee and Mukherjee were arrested by the ED on July 23 in connection with its investigation into money trails in the illegal appointment of teaching and non-teaching staff at government-run schools. West Bengal funding and support.
The ED has claimed to have recovered Rs 49.80 crockery, jewelry and gold bars from apartments owned by Mukherjee, Chatterjee’s alleged close associate, and property documents and a jointly owned company.
Chatterjee was dismissed from his position as minister by the Mamata Banerjee government, while the Trinamool Congress also removed him from all posts he held in the party following his arrest.
