Former Pakistani foot spinner Denmark Kaneria feels Pakistan has a lot to learn from arch-rivals India when it comes to using home conditions to their advantage. New Zealand, who just beat Pakistan 2-1 in their own backyard, lost 2-0 to India in the ODI series with one match left.
Kaneria credits Men in Blue for creating a fresh turf in Raipur without fear that it would backfire on them. India’s pitchers were simply brilliant as they beat the Kiwis by just 108 points and comfortably won the game and series.
In a video on his YouTube channel, this is what Danish Kaneria had to say about the difference between the altitudes of India and that of Pakistan:
“India beat New Zealand by making good use of their home conditions. On the other hand, Pakistan, who opted to pitch at home, were beaten by New Zealand in the ODI series. We have to. learn as other teams make better use of their home conditions. First England beat us, then Australia then New Zealand. We didn’t make any results-driven games.”
In Pakistan, it’s all about thinking about yourself: Danish Kaneria
Danish Kaneria slams Pakistan because there is not enough bench strength. He feels that there are some young and talented players who don’t get much exposure. He again compared this situation to Man In Bluewho can experiment with their faction once they have won the series.
To this, Kaneria stated:
“Now India has a chance to test their bench in the third ODI and give the new players some chances. But in Pakistan it’s all about thinking about yourself. Babar Azam continued to score gets 50-60 runs on its own and the team doesn’t benefit from that at all, it just deals damage.”
