[Watch] Deepti Sharma’s ‘smart’ finish leaves MI’s Issy Wong stunned at WPL 2023

Vice Captain UP Warriorz Deepti Sharma showed great spirit in the first half of the ongoing match against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Saturday. She stuns MI hitter Issy Wong with her cleverness and knocks her out in the final half of the rounds.

Issy Wong looked good on the ball as she scored 32 runs of 19 for the Mumbai Indians. She fought No. 10 Jintimani Kalita in the final against Deepti Sharma.

Wong smashes a six and a four in over. She connects well to the fourth ball and tries to make two runs away from it. Her partner, Kalita, wasn’t too concerned about the second run. Kalita was ready to sacrifice her racquet when the pitch came from deep for pitcher Deepti Sharma.

Much to my surprise, Deepti failed to knock off saves from a non-striker’s finish. Instead, she threw the ball quickly towards the striker and hit the stump. Issy Wong missed the point and had to return to the booth.

Deepti Sharma made another turn in the same amount of time

Deepti was not made by then. Later in the same match, Saika Ishaque and Jintimani Kalita tried to steal a run after Ishaque placed the ball towards the cover.

Sharma quickly picked up the ball and threw it towards the defender, not the striker. She hit her target again, this time Ishaque failed to hit her target. Ishaque is out for not running. The Indians of Mumbai all got 127, thanks to two passes of Deepti.

Sharma is currently playing mid for UP Warriorz. She has scored five making eight deliveries at the time of writing. Grace Harris is standing in the middle with her.

Warriorz needed 31 runs in 29 balls to win the match.
