Xbox Series X|S version of Warhammer 40,000: Dark Tide has been delayed, as has the upcoming introduction of seasonal content to the game. On Twitter, developer Fatshark released a statement announcing the delay, citing feedback from the community as the reason for the delay.
“Over the next few months, our sole focus will be on addressing the feedback many of you have,” Fatshark CEO and co-founder Martin Wahlund wrote in the statement. “In particular, we will focus on delivering a complete crafting system, a more rewarding development loop, and continue to work on optimizing performance and game stability.”
Wahlund thanked the community for playing and providing feedback on Darktide issues, and said the team is committed to creating a game that will reward players weekly, not hourly.
“This also means we’ll be delaying the introduction of seasonal content and the launch of Xbox Series X|S,” Wahlund wrote. “We’ll also be pausing the upcoming release of premium cosmetics. We can’t continue down this path, knowing we haven’t addressed many areas of in-game feedback today.”
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is available for PC. In GameSpot’s Warhammer 40,000: Darktide ReviewMark Delaney wrote, “Darktide is like a natural evolution of the best parts of Vermintide as well as a prime example of some of the growing difficulty in the world of live service. Things like combat, The pacing and team building are expertly thought out and crafted, but the metagame with elements like loot chasing and cosmetics has some of the issues that are admittedly common when a team tries to create a new game with a long tail. Vermintide’s development suggests that Darktide will also have a long shelf life as one of the better games of its kind.”
