Tweed Jacket: Timeless French Girl Style

There are many things that French women are very good at—knowing how to dress is definitely one of them. But even so, when it comes to my own personal style, I have very little in common with the archetype “French girl style”. I prefer loose pants over taper denim, I prefer eccentric and hooded sneakers over the classic white look, and I own very few striped sweaters. However, there is one thing that I have shamefully borrowed from my European colleagues: the tweed jacket. Admittedly the French were right. Even someone like me who can’t stay away from the noble and dignified style has to wear them non-stop.
A few reasons why it’s become my number one pick lately: it adds sophistication to my jeans and jeans with ease, and the ability to wear as top when buttoned up (as opposed to wearing it open like a cardigan) helps reduce the need to wear thinking more carefully about what I’m wearing. While this piece has a quintessential Chanel feel, some other brands also have their own versions to highlight the mainstream French girls’ style. Below, I’ve rounded up all the essential tweed coats I’m considering buying right now, along with some outfit inspiration. Consider me a convert.
