TMNT: Cowabunga Collection gets its first major patch, online multiplayer added for TMNT IV
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Cowabunga Collection has received its first patch and it is a heavy one. Leading the release is online multiplayer support for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time and customizable button mapping.
For Game Boy games, developer Digital Eclipse has also added more color filter options. Players can choose between black and white, Game Boy green, Game Boy pocket green, and Game Boy light blue.
And yes, the Switch version’s Home menu icon has finally been changed to the box art of TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection – a minor change in the grand scheme of things, but an aesthetic tweak. welcome. The game icon previously consisted of four turtles without the game name, but it has now been changed to the cover art with the game name.

TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection was released in August 2022 and combines 13 classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games. In future updates, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project (NES) will also receive online multiplayer support.

New additions:
- The Home Menu icon has changed to box art. (Switch)
- PS4 arcade controllers are now supported. PS4 joystick support now rolling out (PS5)
- Xbox arcade stick is now supported. Xbox joystick support now rolled out (XB1/XSX)
- When creating an online lobby, players can now set the lobby size for two video games. Servers can be limited to 2, 3 or 4 players.
- When creating an online lobby, players can now set the frame delay to “Auto”. With this setting, the input delay will adjust according to the number of players.
- A new enhancement has been added to the SNES and Super Famicom TMNT: Tournament Fighters. Ultimate attacks can now be toggled in Story Mode ON/OFF.
- A new enhancement has been added to Super Famicom TMNT: Tournament Fighters. “Group mode” can now be turned ON/OFF. (Only available in Japanese version.)
- A new enhancement has been added to Arcade US/JP Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The number of lives per coin can be adjusted from 1-5.
- A new enhancement has been added to Arcade US Turtles in Time. The number of lives per coin can be adjusted from 1-8.
- A new enhancement has been added to Arcade US/JP Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Difficulty can be adjusted.
- A new enhancement has been added to Arcade US Turtles in Time. Difficulty can be adjusted.
- A new enhancement has been added to Arcade US Turtles in Time. Game loop can now be turned ON/OFF. When ON, the game will restart from the beginning after the attribution.
- New button actions added to “Arcade US/JP TMNT”, “Arcade US Turtles in Time”, “SNES/Super Famicom Turtles in Time” and “Genesis/MegaDrive Hyperstone Heist”. Players can now assign a button to “Special”. This button presses “Attack” and “Jump” together to make special attacks easier.
- A new color enhancement is added to all Game Boy games. Added ON/OFF GBC Mode. New “Palette” option added to Pause Menu for all Game Boy games. In addition to other filters, players can choose between 4 color palettes, 1. black and white, 2. Game Boy green, 3. Game Boy Pocket green, 4. Game Boy light blue.
- Sound for different games and Main Menu adjusted
- Additional pages for the NES Tournament Fighter and the GEN Tournament Fighter are added to the Strategy Guide.
- Additional pages for GEN Tournament Fighters and GEN Hyperstone Heist added to Strategy Guide.
- Visual settings are saved for each game.
Fixed issue:
- The German translation for “Continuous Punch” for the Page 11 Strategy Guide has been corrected.
- In the music player, the cassette icon for the TMNT arcade program now shows the correct icon.
- On page 5 of the Strategy Guide (SNES Turtles in Time), the Turtle Tip 3 screenshot has been replaced.
- In the SNES Turtles in Time, the Stage Selection enhancements now work even after the setting is changed in Preferences.
- In Hyperstone Heist, Stage Pick improvements now work when selecting 2 players.
- Advanced Easy Menu Navigation for TMNT III Manhattan Project (NES) /TMNT 2 Manhattan Project (Famicom) is now live.
- Additional Credits improvements for SNES Tournament Fighters are now live.
- The SNES Turtles in Time manual in the museum currently includes pages 18-19 which are missing.
