The way I style my hair

Disclosure: Thanks to Nordstrom and ShopStyle Collective for sponsoring today’s post. All featured products are the ones I have been using [and loving] in a long time!

If there is a question I get asked a lot [outside of “what’s your favorite strapless bra?!”] it’s about my hair. Well, considering how it looked at one point [from the bowl cuts as a child to bleach blonde fried to crisp days as a teen], miraculously I have no hair left. To make it even simpler to answer the question, I thought I’d compile a blog post about all of my favorite tried and true hair products that have helped restore curls. my hair, keeping them healthy and looking decent. [good days/bad days/lots of gray in between].

Everything you see below has one thing in common — you can get it all from Nordstrom Beauty. I never fully realized how many brands they carry when it comes to beauty. For years, I used Nordstrom for my wardrobe, but now I also switch to using it for my hair and makeup drawers. Just like all their clothes, All of their beauty products come with free shipping and returns! Also, if you’ve ever been to the store, make sure to take advantage of their free in-store consultations! That’s how I was introduced to many of my favorite beauty products [more of those seen here!]

Now let’s go down and get dirty with all my hair deets –

TV Perfect Hair Shampoo • R+CO // TV Perfect Conditioner • R+CO // Restorative Hair Mask • Moroccanoil // Ultimate Man Soap Set $30 • Kiehl’s

Just like how it is said that your makeup is only as good as your skin care products, the same is true for your hair – your hairstyle will only look as good as your basic products. . I’ve been using R+Co products for the past six months and love it. It leaves my hair feeling very clean and shiny and helps add moisture to my curls. I will occasionally apply this Moroccanoil mask to add moisture to my naturally dry hair. It smells great and makes my hair feel silky soft.

After showering, I use conditioner to detangle before drying. Moral of the story – whatever Moroccanoil I add to my hair.

After I got all the mess out, it was time to blow dry her. The dryer of all hair dryers – this guy. Yes, it’s a splurge, and yes, in my opinion, it’s worth every dollar. She dries super fast and keeps my hair frizz free and straight.

After drying, I always apply heat protectant before using hot tools. This helps prevent breakage and provides protection up to 450 degrees.

Next, the ultimate tool to help me get the hairstyle I want – this t3 curling iron. I’ve been using it for years after my hairstylist recommended it to me and I’ve never looked back. To see this in action, watch my video here! It creates long curls – tip: always leave an inch or two of your hair out of the curling iron and run your hands through the curls after they dry to create waves.

Last but not least, I covered her whole body with a bit of styling spray to give my hair a little extra volume and bounce. It creates a bit of a mess/imperfections, which is what I like. The Oribe brand is amazing – their dry shampoo is the best I’ve ever tried!

And that’s a wrap! As you can see, I don’t use many products, but the ones I do, I love them immensely. Next item on my list when it comes to my hair – looking to prevent gray hair. Send help.
