The jaguars tried to back off in a funny way

The Jacksonville Jaguar tried to catch the Tennessee Titans off guard in their battle for the AFC South on Saturday night, but the gamble backfired.

Early in the second quarter, Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson decided to learn his tricks.

Unlike “Philly Special”, though, the results weren’t nearly as good this time around.

Behind the Titans 3-0 with 9:30 left in the second half, the Jaguars managed to reverse to open things up.

After a fake serve to run against Travis Etienne, quarterback Trevor Lawrence rolled to the right, hurling the ball towards Jamal Agnew and Christian Kirk, who were going in opposite directions.

Both receivers extended their hands, but the ball bounced off Agnew’s head and fell onto the field.

Tennessee’s Rashad Weaver fixed the mayhem, giving the Titans offense an extended lead.

Seven innings later, Titans quarterback Joshua Dobbs found Chrigoziem Okonkwo on a 21-yard touchdown pass to give the Titans a 10-0 advantage.

Everyone loves tricks, and sometimes, as Pederson has demonstrated in the past, they can be hugely profitable.

However, it’s probably not worth the risk in a battle of two teams hovering around 0.500 with the championship on the line.

If the Jaguars watch the playoffs at home next week, the unlucky comeback could haunt the team all season long.
