The final two T20Is are set to take place as scheduled in Florida after the Indian and West Indies players gain US visas
The fourth and fifth matches of the T20I series are taking place between India and West Indies will proceed according to the original schedule. The players received their US visas following the intervention of the president of Guyana, who tempered the diplomatic ties involved in the process.
Many doubted the fate of the last two T20I after the players failed to obtain visas to the United States of America. Follow the itinerary. The teams will play their remaining matches in Lauderhill, Florida to wrap up the tour.
Noting the credit of Guyana president Irfan Ali for his efforts, Cricket West Indies (CWI) president Ricky Skerritt said Cricbuzz:
“It was a timely and influential diplomatic effort on your part.”
In the Indian team, there are 14 members without visas. Selected team of personnel, including the likes of head coach Rahul Dravid and the captain Rohit Sharma, was flown to Georgetown, Guyana after concluding its third T20I at St.Kitts. The group was interviewed by the US Embassy on Tuesday evening (August 2).
The other members of the India team, who were granted visas, set off for Miami following the team’s seven-time win in the third T20I game. Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Dinesh Karthik, Ravi Bishnoi, Suryakumar Yadav, and Kuldeep Yadav have arrived in the United States and will soon join the rest of the cast.
CWI President Ricky Skerritt added:
“They can only fly tomorrow afternoon. All visa applications have been approved but passports will not be returned until this afternoon. All that CWI can do has been done. Night flight. Yesterday’s arrival in Miami, for former visa holders, was greater financial risk to delay it than to operate it as previously planned.”
The team led by Rohit Sharma will face the West Indies in the fourth T20I of the series on August 6 (Saturday). Men in Blue has faced the two-time champion in Florida in the past as well as on two different tours.

Team India captain Rohit Sharma is available to choose from in the last two T20I matches of the five-match series. The opening hitter suffered a back spasm while hitting the ball in the first part and had to leave the court in the second part of the chase.
