Back in June, it was revealed that the music executive Chaka Zulu was one of three men who were shot in a triple shooting in Atlanta. Last week, Zulu was arrested on murder charges, and shortly after, his legal counsel released a statement that he acted in self-defence. Now, footage shows what happened on the night of the incident.
In the video obtained by TMZ, it shows a group of men, including Artez Benton, who was fatally shot in the incident, arrived at Zulu’s Apt4B restaurant, parked in the valet area, and went inside. A few minutes later, they were back in the parking lot, where some sort of argument broke out between Zulu and a man named Tre’mon Robinson.
While that dispute was going on, another man named Corey Crawford was seen taking something from one of the cars in the parking lot. A source connected to Zulu’s legal team told TMZ they believe Crawford went to get the gun.
As the argument between Zulu and Robinson heated up, Robinson’s friends arrived and the group began dancing Zulu.
Zulu’s assistant tried to help him, but she was unfortunately punched in the face, causing her to fall to the ground.
Once off the ground, it appears Zulu fired his weapon first at Benton, and shortly after, Crawford fired several shots, one of which hit Zulu in the back.
Zulu and Benton were two of three men transported to the hospital, where Benton later died of his injuries.
Like before Reportedly, prison records show that Zulu surrendered to authorities on September 13 and signed up on the same day.
