Shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper accused Mr Sunak of putting his party ahead of his country.
“He just appointed Suella Braverman as interior secretary a week after she resigned for breaching ministerial rules, insecurity, sending sensitive government information through unauthorized private channels, and after weeks of non-stop disagreements with other cabinet ministers,” she said as quoted by The Guardian.
Earlier this month, Ms Braverman was at the center of a controversy over considering Indians “the largest group of people who overstay” their visas in the UK.
She said in an interview with The Spectator: “Look at the migration problem in this country – the largest group of people overstayed are Indian migrants.
A hardliner, Ms Braverman’s reappointment has been dubbed “sceptical”.
“The appointment of Suella Braverman as Secretary of the Interior Department just days after she was fired for a security breach does not imply integrity, competence, professionalism or sound politics. It is just the way it is. skeptical maneuver. This Prime Minister is no better than the previous two,” Labor MP Chris wrote on Twitter Bryant.
