Steam pre-orders open in Japan, Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan
After the announcement of Valve enhances Steam Deck production capabilities, the handheld PC console is also now coming to other select countries – Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Reservations open today, August 3 at 5 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. ET.
These new reservations will not affect the existing NA/UK/EU reservation timelines. So if you’re in Q3 or Q4, you’ll still be in those queues with the same estimated delivery date.
Valve will be partnering with Komodo for distribution to new regions and will show at BitSummit in Kyoto and the Tokyo Game Show in September.
In Steam Deck related news, Valve also recently confirmed that everyone with an existing endorsement will receive a Steam Deck before the end of 2022. Many people in Q4 were also pushed to Q3. You can check the details of Pre-order Steam while logged into your account.
The Steam Deck comes in three price points: 64GB for $400, 256GB for $529, and 512GB (among other upgraded qualities) for $649. While there are handheld PC competitors on the market, like the Ayaneo series, none can compare to what you get from the Steam Deck for the price you pay.
In a recent big Steam Deck Updatethe device will now warn you whether it’s running too hot or too cold, and in time for an expanded regional release, featuring a new localized keyboard for 21 languages.
