Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell’s Upcoming Holiday Movie Morale – a retelling of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol – will hit theaters November 11 before its global premiere on Apple TV+ November 18 before Thanksgiving.
Apple Original Films announced plans to release the hit movie on Friday. It is not clear how many cinemas there are Morale will participate, as many exhibitors are reluctant to bring a film home so quickly that the box office is now recovering from the pandemic.
For its part – like its competitors – Apple Original Films’ primary focus is on creating compelling content for its streaming service, rather than conducting a full-fledged theatrical release that requires massive marketing spend. .
Celebrities often don’t report theatrical sales. Traditional Hollywood event imagery will open in 3,000 to 4,000 theaters, while an event title from a live streamer will typically play in no more than 400 to 500 locations.

Octavia Spencer also featured in Morale. Reynolds plays a character who resembles Ebeneezer Scrooge and Ferrell, the Ghost of a Christmas present. Patrick Page, Sunita Mani, Loren Woods, Joe Tippett, Marlow Barkley and Jen Tullock have completed the cast.
