Social Media Reacts to TikTok’s Famous ‘Talking Dog’ Questioning Its Existence

A dog named Bunny has made everyone’s heart flutter, and it’s all thanks to some of the messages this pet conveys using dedicated buttons.
Downfall on @WhatAboutBunny
People may have seen Bunny through several viral videos posted to the @whataboutbunny TikTok account over the years. Many of these happily show Bunny using dedicated buttons on the floor to pass messages, which her employer trained her to do.
Through these videos, Sheepadoodle has gained more than 8 million followers on TikTok and she has been featured in buzz feed and New York Times.

This method of communication is known as augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), which “means all the ways that someone communicates besides talking,” according to the Hearing-Language-Speech Association. of the United States.
However, some of these uploads have gained a lot of attention lately, as they show Bunny using buttons to express existential fear and confusion. In one video, she repeatedly signals “worried” and “very sad” as she asks for Fluoxetine, a drug used to treat generalized anxiety disorder.

@whataboutbunny Buns has been taking Fluoxetine to treat GAD (generalized anxiety disorder) since early 2022. When I gave it to her, I said “this is for all the sad things and all the worrying. “. these plans and clips seem to show that Buns also understands how useful it is #mentalhealthishealth #anxiety #depression #smartdog

Twitter users react with concern
While Bunny was already well known on TikTok, one user called attention to the dog in an “existential crisis” on Twitter and numerous new users weighed in on the situation.
Remember the dog on tiktok that was trained to communicate using those buttons??
Why is the dog taking antidepressants now and having an existential crisis asking why is he a dog………… pic.twitter.com/9n1wL4S4o2

Some said they felt sorry for the “sentient dog” because they believed she was so self-aware that she understood her own reality.
I feel so bad for the sentient tiktok dog that’s on antidepressants asking why he’s a dog and when he’s going to die. she looks in the mirror and says “someone” with her speech buttons, I really can’t stop screaming????

Anime stans will appreciate (or terrify) Bunny being compared to Nina from The complete alchemist. IYKYK.

There is also some disagreement over the story, as some believe that Bunny took antidepressants after learning to communicate. However, others also shared that the dog had been given anti-depressants before, although the situation is still unfamiliar to some.
She is a dog who has discovered that the other dog in the mirror is really her and she probably wants to know why she looks like that instead of like her mother, which is crazy.

I read that the dog was on antidepressants and they made buttons for her to try and help understand her feelings

While Bunny’s owners trained her to communicate, one user even theorized that the dog may have had memories of being a human in a past life.
Okay here’s a theory… what if the dog was a human in his previous life and now they taught him words he remembers he used to be human but he can’t get away his dog life so he sadly asked why he was a human? dog
