Mira-Bhayandar police senior official, Vasai-Virar told PTI, “We will help the Delhi police regarding the incident. Shraddha Walkar murder case if they need any help or contact us for assistance.” Poonawala (28) was arrested by the Delhi police on murder charges walkwho stayed in Vasai in May of this year, cutting the bodies into 35 pieces before dumping them in different places in the national capital for several days.
“After registering the disappearance complaint (filed by her father), we passed all the details to the Delhi police. If they (Delhi police) approach us, we will provide give them all possible help,” the official said. “The accused Poonawala’s family members left their apartment in Vasai about 15 days ago and we don’t know anything about them. How can we summon them for questioning because nothing happened? within our jurisdiction,” he said.
Vasai police in Palghar district questioned the defendant in Walkar’s disappearance, the official said. “However, we are closely monitoring developments in the murder case,” he added.
According to Vasai town police, Walkar, a mass communications graduate, worked at a call center in the Malad area of Mumbai and met Poonawala through a dating app in 2019. A friend of the man’s This woman informed her family members after being unable to reach her, saying, “Once Walkar (when she lived in Vasai) texted me and asked me to come pick her up. her or Aaftab will kill her.”
Delhi police on Tuesday took Poonawala to a jungle area in Chhatarpur, south of Delhi, where he allegedly dumped Walkar’s body parts after killing her. Walkar and Poonawala have a living relationship and they move to Delhi after getting to know each other to work together. However, a motive behind the gruesome murder remains unknown.
