Paramount Pictures has a Cloverfield The film is in active development, with Babak Anvari attached to direct the sequel to the popular series.
Joe Barton was previously brought on board by JJ Abrams and Paramount Pictures to write the script for the sequel. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions banner is producing the sequel to the franchise alongside Hannah Minghella and Jon Cohen.
British-Iranian director Anvari continues his film debut Under the dark with Wound, a psychological thriller starring Armie Hammer. Horror film produced by Abrams Cloverfield was released in 2008 and put filmmaker Matt Reeves on the path of the auteur genre.

Bryan Burk and Drew Goddard will also executive produce the latest sequel. Deadline Hollywood is the first to reveal the new Cloverfield film directed by Anvari.
