Rodtang Jitmuangnon has hinted that his upcoming opponent will be changed shortly.
‘Iron Man’ was scheduled to rematch flyweight kickboxing with Daniel Puertas at ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video. Unfortunately, the battle card was shuffled when Ilias Ennahachi withdrew from the co-main event due to weight issues, helping Puertas win the flyweight kickboxing world title against Superlek.
The result is, Rodtang was confronted by Jiduo Yibu. In an interview with SCMP MMAThe 25-year-old Muay Thai phenomenon discussed switching opponents by saying:
“These two opponents are very different from each other. Puertas is very aggressive and he has a similar style to me. I know his weak point, that if I keep pushing he will feel [my power] when I hit him. Nhat Bo is very different. He’s left-handed so we had to come up with a new plan.”
Rodtang has committed to becoming the ONE kickboxing world champion after dominating Muay Thai flyweight. ‘Iron Man’ has never backed down from a challenge, so changing opponents at the last second shouldn’t be a problem for the 25-year-old superstar.
ONE Fight Night 6 is live and free in North America with Prime Video.
