Robin Roberts Announces She’s Getting Married to Longtime Partner – The Hollywood Reporter

Robin Roberts has announced that wedding bells are ready for her and her partner this year.

In a segment on Monday Good Morning America with author Gabby Bernstein about her book Supernatural Attractor: Ways to manifest life beyond your wildest dreams, they discussed the concept of “saying yes”. When Bernstein asked Roberts what she “agreed” to this year, Roberts hesitated before admitting the reason she hesitated was because she “didn’t say it out loud.”

“I said yes to marriage. We are getting married this year. That’s what we talked about, but we put it off. She’s sick and that’s saying yes to that and the next chapter,” Roberts said before adding, “I can’t believe I just said that.”

Roberts later shared the moment she announced it on GMA on her Instagram, writing “Say YES to marriage in 2023,” with hashtags # “#marriage,” “expression.” and “#love is love”.

Roberts will marry longtime partner Amber Laign.

Last July, Roberts praised Laign for completing radiation therapy after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in late 2021. In an Instagram post, Roberts shared a video of Laign ringing the bell as announced that her radiotherapy was complete.

“Sweet Amber, Radiation Completion, a very important stage in her treatment! We both thank you for all your well wishes and prayers,” she captioned the video. “Proud of her and all of her Thrirs friends for your bravery and kindness during challenging times. This is really my second #motivation.”

Roberts announced in February 2022 that Laign had been diagnosed with breast cancer in One video shared on her social network. “My sweet Amber wants me to tell you something she is facing. Late last year, Amber was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had surgery last month and will start chemotherapy this morning. Thankfully, the prognosis is good, she said at the time.

Roberts later shared in April that Laign was pausing treatment due to complications from chemotherapy. “They are doing it. We will find it. The prognosis is still very good,” she said Tonight’s reception.

Roberts herself was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007, then received a bone marrow transplant and radiation therapy after learning she had the rare blood disorder myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). Her medical journey was recorded on Good Morning America and in one 20/20 especially at that time.
