A$AP Rocky has been charged with two counts of gun assault in Los Angeles, authorities said.
The American rapper, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, is alleged to have pointed a handgun at the victim during an incident last November.
On Monday, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office charged the New York native with two counts of semi-automatic assault with an individual charge of using a firearm.
The district attorney’s office said he also allegedly fired a weapon at the victim during a subsequent confrontation.
Mayers recently welcomed her first child with Rihanna, one of the best-selling music artists of all time, in May.
District Attorney George Gascon said: “Shooting a gun in a public place is a serious offense that can have tragic consequences not only for the person targeted but also for innocent bystanders. while visiting Hollywood.
“My office has conducted a thorough review of the evidence in this case and determined that the addition of a special weapons charge is warranted.”
Mayers is scheduled to give a plea on Wednesday in Los Angeles.
The incident is still being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Robbery/Murder Division.
Mayers is known for songs including F ***** Problems, Praise The Lord and Everyday.
