Rain haunts South Africa again as the match against Zimbabwe is ended with Proteas on the verge of victory

South AfricaIt’s unlucky when it rains in ICC events continue as they T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12 vs Zimbabwe was eliminated with Proteas having only 13 winning runs. The stop game that started at Bellerive Oval in Hobart was reduced to nine rounds one side due to a much delayed start.

After winning, Zimbabwe beat first and ranked 79/5 in their 9 rounds. Chase 80, Quinton de Kock (47 * off 18) got South Africa off to a good start. Another downpour led them to set a revised target of 64 out of seven overruns. Team Proteas had taken a 51/0 lead for three rounds when the rain interrupted again and couldn’t play any more.

Knowing the weather was not so good, De Kock became confused when the first 23 runs were bowled by Tendai Chatara. The first three balls are exchanged for four balls, while the fourth serve is launched at maximum length over width. The fifth delivery is pulled four more times to the right of the deep square. In a mixed phase, De Kock saved a final ball.

After a short while, South Africa’s target was reduced to 64 in seven overruns. The extra time in the match did not affect De Kock’s momentum. As the players returned to the field, the left-hander punched Richard Ngarava four rounds in the second half. It’s purely one-way traffic. Unfortunately, once again, South African players and fans fell in love as the rain had the final say.

Madhevere lifts Zimbabwe to 79/5 after a bad start against South Africa

Wesley Madhevere shot 35* out of 18 balls as Zimbabwe recovered from 19/4 to 79/5 in a game that dropped to 9 balls per side due to rain

Regis Chakabva was arbitrated lbw against Wayne Parnell in the second part of the match, but the decision was overturned using DRS. However, the left-armer eliminated Craig Ervine (two) in the same match. The Zimbabwean captain tried to throw Parnell into the middle of the field, but could only hit the target and was caught.

Chakabva fell to Lungi Ngidi eight, shortly after knocking him down six. Trying to make another big shot, he made a long pass back to the keeper. Ngidi also received Sikandar Raza’s giant hit (0) in the same match. The Zimbabwean tried to pull the South African pitcher, but ended up letting the serve succeed. De Kock jumps high for a sensational one-handed catch.

Another shining moment on the field, this time by David Miller, ended Sean Williams’ stay with a point. Madhevere punches a serve to additional cover and the two fight in preparation for a run. There was a collision between the batters. Meanwhile, Miller aimed for the striker’s head and hit the bull’s eye.

Madhevere and Milton Shumba then settled into innings before the former faced Kagiso Rabada at the penultimate end, a match that cost South Africa 17. Madhevere first stumbled with a 6-to-wide midwicket and then hit four legs in a row – the first cut on the front of the keeper and the second cut on the back.

Zimbabwe were helped by five penalties in the final game thrown by Anrich Nortje when a shot by Ngidi from good foot touched De Kock’s glove lying on the ground.

Shumba (18) was caught after the last ball of the round. However, Zimbabwe will be pleased with their courtesy rebound with a fifth goal of 60.
