Forever is a long time stuck with the wrong porcelain (or spouse for that matter), but fear not: Rachel Zoe is here to help brides and grooms-to-be (with the former, not the former). after). Having just celebrated her 25th wedding anniversary, this Hollywood entrepreneur turned stylist knows her way around wedding registration — which is why she partnered with wedding planning platform Joy to help launch the company’s Expert Curations initiative.

“Subscriptions are great for things you want, need, and know you’ll use but you don’t want to buy yourself right now,” says Zoe, sharing that her main advice is to consider your lifestyle. a person when choosing clothes. “Where and how do you live? You can get delicious food everyday. You can buy flatware that is dishwasher safe and more pragmatic in how it applies to your lifestyle.”

Admittedly, she and Berman were no ordinary couple; so, naturally, they still use Tiffany & Co. from their registry. “Contrary to what I just said, I use all of my Tiffany crockery when hosting big dinner parties,” Zoe said with a laugh. “But I’ll say this – for the first 10 years of our lives we didn’t look at that porcelain. One day I woke up and said, ‘I don’t want this to be taken so seriously and I’m going to start using it.’ And we started having dinner parties and people would laugh. My friends will come. We’re in our late twenties, early thirties and everyone uses paper plates [at their dinner parties] and I will smash my porcelain. It’s really funny.”

There are a few of them that I am quite attached to.”

“The problem with coasters is that it’s something we all need and never have enough of,” says Zoe, who recommends Godinger’s Silver Art Marble Coasters, which feature gold trim. and comes in a set of four. “Condensation annoys me because it’s sticky and the easiest way to ruin a dining or coffee table. Having nice coasters is important, so you can leave them on the table.”

“For glassware, I love Villeroy & Boch and Waterford,” she says, introducing this set of four Rock Stems Production Champagne Flutes. “I like it to be heavy in weight but sturdy in the hand. Sometimes, when guys have a crystal that’s too fragile, they actually put it on the table and it shatters. I’ve actually seen that happen if the trunk is too thin.”

“When you choose your porcelain, you want it to be something classic enough that you can incorporate your pieces into it over time,” she says. “Back then I chose classic white with a beautiful platinum border [by Tiffany & Co]. I still haven’t gotten bored of it and I have all the accessories that come with it. It was beautiful. It’s fun to combine with other solid color plates and different accessories as well as different flatware. I suggest maybe getting a tune or two. If I got it now, I’d probably get the brass trim instead of the platinum. Over the course of my life, I have certainly grown to love gold and brass much more—especially in my home.” Although Tiffany & Co. For her part, Zoe has great memories of her and Berman’s trip. “We honeymooned in St. Barts,” Zoe said. “I would definitely recommend it. We have been going back every year for over twenty years. They have such nice hotels there. The views are excellent. It’s a special place. You feel like you’re in the south of France without having to travel far to the US and it’s so exclusive. It’s not super touristy. I love it.”
