Forever is a long time stuck with the wrong porcelain (or spouse for that matter), but fear not: Rachel Zoe is here to help brides and grooms-to-be (with the former, not the former). after). Having just celebrated her 25th wedding anniversary, this Hollywood entrepreneur turned stylist knows her way around wedding registration — which is why she partnered with wedding planning platform Joy to help launch the company’s Expert Curations initiative.
Zoe was among more than a dozen professionals selected to manage wedding registries; others include Exciting race Teammates Will Jardell and James Wallington, Design Star: The Next Generation judge and interior designer Lauren Makk, celebrity cocktail connoisseur Paul Zahn, technology editor Jessica Naziri, interior designer Anita Yokota, fitness trainer Gideon Akande, recipe developer and head Danielle Kartes kitchen, etc
“Subscriptions are great for things you want, need, and know you’ll use but you don’t want to buy yourself right now,” says Zoe, sharing that her main advice is to consider your lifestyle. a person when choosing clothes. “Where and how do you live? Are you a normal couple at home most of the time? Are you a couple able to live a more formal lifestyle, have more entertainment and have more people?
Zoe said the rules have changed a bit since she and husband Rodger Berman got married in 1998. “It’s different than 20, 30, 40 years ago when it was like, ‘Okay, let’s register stuff. your porcelain, dishes, vases and porcelain. pan,’” she said. “You need to do some of that, but more importantly, you need to discuss what you want and need – something that you will use now and in the next few years.”

She says it’s important to choose fashionable yet practical items that you can enjoy right now. “As a young couple, you would have this idea in mind: ‘Well, I have to buy my porcelain, so that in 5 or 10 years we can use our porcelain, yes. no?’” Zoe laughed. “Those rules have changed a bit and you don’t need to get porcelain. You can get delicious food everyday. You can buy flatware that is dishwasher safe and more pragmatic in how it applies to your lifestyle.”
Admittedly, she and Berman were no ordinary couple; so, naturally, they still use Tiffany & Co. from their registry. “Contrary to what I just said, I use all of my Tiffany crockery when hosting big dinner parties,” Zoe said with a laugh. “But I’ll say this – for the first 10 years of our lives we didn’t look at that porcelain. One day I woke up and said, ‘I don’t want this to be taken so seriously and I’m going to start using it.’ And we started having dinner parties and people would laugh. My friends will come. We’re in our late twenties, early thirties and everyone uses paper plates [at their dinner parties] and I will smash my porcelain. It’s really funny.”

Through Joy, Zoe is offering couples the chance to win a “red carpet wedding styling experience” that includes a trip to Los Angeles for a private styling session with Zoe as well as $10,000 wedding wardrobe. For those who didn’t get the chance, Zoe shared her favorite bridal trend with hollywood reporter. “We are seeing a lot of sleeves and impressive sleeve detailing,” she said. “I don’t think many brides wear sleeveless tops when I get married. That’s more for mom. Used to [also] see on the board a lot of corseting. That’s a big trend right now – that’s how Vivienne Westwood feels. There are a lot of different lengths — such as a shorter one at the front and a super-magnified train at the back.”

There are a few of them that I am quite attached to.”

GLASS
“For glassware, I love Villeroy & Boch and Waterford,” she says, introducing this set of four Rock Stems Production Champagne Flutes. “I like it to be heavy in weight but sturdy in the hand. Sometimes, when guys have a crystal that’s too fragile, they actually put it on the table and it shatters. I’ve actually seen that happen if the trunk is too thin.”

Villeroy & Boch Produce Rock Blanc 4-Pc. Set
“When you choose your porcelain, you want it to be something classic enough that you can incorporate your pieces into it over time,” she says. “Back then I chose classic white with a beautiful platinum border [by Tiffany & Co]. I still haven’t gotten bored of it and I have all the accessories that come with it. It was beautiful. It’s fun to combine with other solid color plates and different accessories as well as different flatware. I suggest maybe getting a tune or two. If I got it now, I’d probably get the brass trim instead of the platinum. Over the course of my life, I have certainly grown to love gold and brass much more—especially in my home.” Although Tiffany & Co. Hers is no longer available, but she also recommends a classic white set by Villeroy & Boch.

They have such nice hotels there. The views are excellent. It’s a special place. You feel like you’re in the south of France without having to travel far to the US and it’s so exclusive.
