Production of Red Ripperz, Sherbies and Milkos temporarily on hold leaving lolly lovers devastated
Fans of Red Ripperz, Sherbies and Milkos have been hard-pressed to find them on supermarket shelves.
Lolly lovers have struggled to find them in shops since the end of 2022 with many taking to social media to complain.
This is because production of the lollies has been temporarily paused.
But there’s a heartwarming reason for the pause in production.
Allen’s revealed on Wednesday it had moved production of three back to Australia.
“We know how much you love these lollies, so we wanted to reassure you not to worry! They have not been discontinued, it’s just a temporary pause in production,” Allen’s Lollies posted on Facebook.
“Recently, we proudly moved production of these chews back to Australia to the home of ALLEN’S in Broadford, Victoria.
“The move has taken a little longer than expected but rest assured, we are working hard to bring them back to shelves in their own bags as soon as possible.
“Until then, you can still find Sherbies, Red Ripperz & Milko chews in bags of ALLEN’S Chew Mix.
“We’ll keep you in the loop and let you know the moment they’re back on shelves. Stay tuned, lolly lovers!”
There were recent reports that the lollies had been discontinued permanently which left fans outraged.
“Allen’s Lollies HAVE YOU LOST YOUR FRICKEN MIND?!,” one woman wrote.
“First you take away cobbers, then bananas then fantails & now redskins, milkos and sherbies. WHY are you taking away all the good stuff ???!!! How about getting rid of your horrible jelly beans and other crap that doesn’t sell. What on earth is wrong with you people? I’m just mind blown, to say the least.”
“This is what it feels like to finally be a grown up,” another added.
However, Allen’s did confirm that one lolly would definitely not be returning.
When one woman asked them to bring back spearmint leaves, the company replied: “We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but sadly we’ve discontinued spearmint leaves.
“As you can imagine, factors such as declining sales, retail space and new products being launched (so that we can offer variety in our range) can often result in us having to discontinue products.
“Whilst we have no current plans to reintroduce this product, we’ll be sure to share your feedback with our marketing team and we hope you’ll continue to enjoy other products in our range.”
