The expansion of the Starz . franchise Outlander with the prequel is a trip and will be called Outlander: Blood of My Blood.
The expansion Outlander universe will portray the love story between Jamie Fraser’s parents. New project writing room in progress and Diana Gabaldon, who wrote Outlander novel series, will be a consultant producer for the series.
Matthew B. Roberts is writing Outlander: Blood of My Blood and will act as host and executive producer. He is also the host and executive producer for OutlanderThe time travel film, starring Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan, was screened for its seventh season.
In addition to Roberts, Maril Davis will also executive produce the prequel alongside Ronald D. Moore, who developed Outlander for TV under their production banner Tall Ship Productions. Story Mining & Supply Company will also executive produce.
“Outlander is a compelling show that, from season to season, has won the hearts of fans around the world. We’re excited to peel back the layers of this vibrant world to bring audiences back to the source of where it all began. Matthew, Maril and Ronald will continue to bring their amazing vision and creativity to this new iteration, and we can’t wait to see what happens next,” said Kathryn Busby, department president original programming department at Starz, said in a statement.
The prequel will be available nationally for Starz and StarzPlay in Europe, Latin America, and Brazil. The expansion of Outlander after the COVID time travel series delayed its sixth season premiere on Starz.
Part seven of Outlander, will again consist of 12 volumes, which will be based on the seventh installment in author Diana Gabaldon’s eight-book series, Echo in bones.
