Partha Chatterjee, his assistant Arpita Mukherjee was held in separate cells due to security concerns

The agency has traced links between a company, Ananta Texfab Pvt Ltd, which has Mukherjee’s Belghoria apartment as a registered address, and the former minister’s family members, as observed by a special court denied their bail application on Friday. The agency seized around Rs 27.90 crore from the same flat last month.
More than 50 bank accounts are on the agency’s scanner and it is looking for account statements that will be sent for forensic examination, ED sources said.
Mukherjee, detained in judicial custody for 14 days, was kept in a separate cell in the women’s correctional house in Alipur and Chatterjee of Kolkata in a cell in the senior part of the country. Presidential Correctoralso in the same location.

Other inmates in the prison include American Center attack mastermind Aftab Ansari, Sarada chit fund owner Sudipta Sen and Trinamool and former Maoist leader Chhatradhar Mahato.
According to prison sources, Chatterjee repented of choosing politics over a corporate career. After entering the Presidential Correctional House on Friday night, the former minister Chatterjee said “this day would not have come if he hadn’t left his job and entered politics”, one of them said. .
Sources say he is keeping quiet in his cell and avoiding talking to others in the cell.
Sarada’s close aide, Sudipta Sen, Debjani Mukhopadhyay, was previously held in the cell where Mukherjee is currently staying.
