will be activated from the wounded reserve and start. Knight Spencer will act as a backup, ie Alex Lyon likely to return to the minor leagues.
Bobrovsky, 34, last competed on January 19 but lasted only two minutes before having to withdraw due to a lower body injury. It was his 30th appearance of the season, and things didn’t go so well. As one of the most inconsistent cyber-minded people in recent history, Bobrovsky can alternate between Vezina-caliber superstars and backup-level anchors almost on a daily basis.
Almost no one can compete with his athletic ability if he is completely fit and playing to the fullest. A two-time Vezina champion, he also led the league in wins just last season when he hit a save rate of 0.913. This year, that number has dropped to 0.897, and Bobrovsky has lost more than he has won.
Despite their poor play, the Panthers managed to maintain an impressive distance ahead of the knockout stages. The club is just three points behind the Pittsburgh Penguins for the second wildcard and has enough talent on the roster to run the race. To do that, however, they will need a much better performing goalscoring duo than they did in the first half. It begins tonight, with Bobrovsky trying to stop the Tampa Bay Lightning gunmen.
