Niti Aayog: Prime Minister Narendra Modi holds pre-budget meeting with Niti Aayog


Prime minister Narendra Modi Friday will hold a pre-budget meeting with more than two dozen economists and industry experts in NITI Aayog to seek their views on measures to promote economic growth.

Top union ministers are also expected to attend the meeting to understand the policy measures needed in their respective areas to spur growth.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present Union Budget 2023-24 in Parliament on February 1.

In addition to Sitharaman, ministers could include interior minister Amit Shah, road and highways transport minister Nitin Gadkari, trade and industry minister Piyush Goyal, among others.

Some of the top economists and experts who will likely be present at the meeting include Govinda Rao, DK Joshi, Ravindra Dholakia, Sugata Marjit, Krishnamurthy Subramanian, Samiran Chakraborty, Pulok Ghosh, Vikram Mehta and Vinayak Chatterjee.

However, ET has no official confirmation of the names of the attendees.
