Niantic pulled Zorua out of Pokemon Go because of a bug

Zorua and its evolution Zoroark is said to have debuted in Pokemon Go last week, as part of the game’s ongoing Halloween event, however, the rogue’s Pokemon was pulled – or at least delayed, due to a bug.

In keeping with its nature as a tricking Pokemon, Niantic planned Unique event for the launch of Zorua, where the Pokemon will appear on the map as the player’s best friend Pokemon, revealing only as Zorua when captured. The event appears to be going as intended for players in New Zealand, the first time zone to receive Pokemon Go events, however the second occurrence does not go as planned and the Australian players do not. saw signs of Zorua.

Following a series of tweets by Niantic Support, the event was intercepted, causing Zorua to be forced to obtain the stats – including height, CP, and attacks – of the original captured buddy Pokemon. While some players in the original time zones will be able to capture Zorua and add it to their Pokedex, the captured Pokemon will not be able to be traded, sent to the Pokemon Home, or allowed in PVP battles.

Niantic did not add any further updates on the issue, which caused players around the world to miss the planned Zorua event during Spotlight Shuppet Hour on Tuesday. The developer also hasn’t said whether they intend to reorganize the event later as a makeover or if it will launch Zorua in the game through another medium. However, for now, Pokemon Unovan is not yet available in Pokemon Go for all but a select few players.
