NFL fans demand Packers Aaron Rodgers bench for Jordan Love for the rest of the season
Green Bay Packers full-back Aaron Rodgers had a hell of a season in 2022.
After losing to Davante Adams last season to the Las Vegas Raiders, Rodgers and the Packers are simply not the same. Their defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football sent them down a disappointing 4-8 for the season.
The loss essentially knocked them out of a playoff spot, even though mathematically they weren’t out yet.
Substitute Jordan Love replaced the injured Rodgers against the Eagles and looked decent as he threw a 63-yard touchdown to Christian Watson. Love’s performance was solid enough for NFL fans to suggest he should start Rodgers again. One fan tweeted:
“The current future, old man.”
Here are some other reactions:
Aaron Rodgers looks nothing like usual at his MVP level in 2022 and many have called for a switch in midfield. With The season of Green Bay is basically done and dustedloud cry for Jordan love to start over Rodgers has now become jarring.
it will happen?
Aaron Rodgers and Packers’ season goes downhill with Eagles loss
Green Bay simply had to beat Philadelphia in a Sunday Night Football game to keep their slim hopes of a place in the knockout stages. However, with an eighth loss of the season, those hopes appear to be over.
As mentioned above, Jordan Love comes on for injured Aaron Rodgers, who said after the game that he had a rib injury and was finding it difficult to breathe. Love, who has been subjected to much malice since arriving in Wisconsin, looks much better than before.
He completed six of his nine 113-yard passes and that touchdown with Watson on a slant. Defending MVP Rodgers himself wasn’t too bad although he had two interceptions as he completed 11 of 16 140-yard passes and two touchdowns.
Much of the 40-33 loss was given the green light for Love to hand the keys to the team for the rest of the season. Obviously there will be opposition from Rodgers, but the majority of Packers fans seem to feel it’s time to pass the torch.
This is often how change begins. A young midfielder came on for an injured veteran, played well and, as they say, the rest is history. Shall we look back on this Sunday night’s game as the beginning of the end for Aaron Rodgers? Many people seem to think so.
