My Eye Makeup Routine – Living in Yellow
Disclosure: Thanks to Nordstrom Beauty and Collective Voice for sponsoring today’s post. All products have been selected and your favorite really.
Oh, the power of some good eye makeup tools. It’s amazing how I was able to go from ‘vibrant’ to ‘light eye and bushy tail’ in just 5 minutes and 12 coats of mascara. After being asked frequently about my eye makeup routine [which cracks me up knowing I’ve done the same exact thing since I was 15 years old — my ability to change makeup routines is non-existent] I think I’m finally sharing my complete eye makeup routine from az! As you’ll see, it’s pretty simple and doesn’t require much skill. What does it require though? Good product.
Insert all my favorites from Nordstrom Beauty. They carry every item I use on my lid [lashes, brows, everything]. I love that this is the one-stop shop for all of my favorite brands and products – from Urban Decay to Benefit Cosmetics, etc.
Now, let’s start with a small “before” shot and walk you through the steps needed to create a “after” that wants to leave the house Here she is – a full makeup face without anything What to do with eye makeup? Time to highlight her.
First things first – go to FACILITY[ics].
At the start of any eye makeup routine is a great primer [or at least there should be] to ensure all-day wear! This Urban Decay Primer is incredibly easy to apply with just a few swipes on the cap, ensuring your powder goes on smoothly and withstands all that’s to come your day.
Now it is fun. I’m a huge fan of Urban Decay Naked Palettes and have been using this Naked3 palette for a few months now. The first thing I did was take the “strange” color and apply it all over my eyelids, all the way to the brow bone. This provides a light base for my entire eye to brighten it up!
Next, I took some “liar” and “mugshot” colors and mixed the two to apply right over my brow bone area and into the outer crease to add a bit of dimension!
Then I took the “darkheart” color and used the included Smokey Eye Brush Set to line the lower lash line. This gives the look of the lining without being too dramatic. I added a slight “strange” shadow to the bottom inner crease to brighten up my eyes too!
Once I’ve finished the shadows, it’s time to draw the brows! Let’s talk about 2 of my favorite brow styles!
First, neuBROW. The reason I have any eyebrows at all. I have seen tremendous growth and fullness since using this product [give it 6 weeks and then you’ll start to notice new growth sprouting up everywhere!]
And the next brow product to add any extra coverage in empty spots is this My Brow Precisely pencil. I like one edge to be the pencil and the other to be the brush to blend it. It is very easy to use and works like a charm!
Now that we’ve got all the brows done and looking like they’re floating, it’s time to move on to lashes – my favorite eye theme.
We can’t forget the curls when lifting those babies. This eyelash curler makes lashes curl and beautiful [I use this before applying any mascara]!
Like my brows, I swear by this neuLASH lash serum for maximum lash growth. A few swipes at night along my lashes and those babies will grow for days.
Now that we have curled and long lashes, it’s time to give them a good dose of mascara. Not just any mascara though – Better than Thickening & Longer Mascara. Any mascara that claims it’s better than sex is the mascara for me. Although I may not *completely* agree [wink] it packs a pretty powerful punch.
I always apply a few coats to the front and back of my lashes [by swiping the back, it makes them so much fuller and helps elongate them]! I also applied my bottom lashes to make my eyes the star of the party.
And just like that, she was ready to leave the house. Someone get this girl a cocktail, it’s time to party!
ps. When it’s time to go home for the night, this Bi-Facil Sensitive Skin Dual Action Eye Makeup Remover is my go-to companion for every problem! Till tomorrow…

When not in front of her computer screen [with a La Croix or wine in hand] or in front of the mirror taking a selfie in front of the mirror, you can see Erin spending time on the water, cuddling with her two kids and her husband most likely watching the latest episode of Shark Tank or getting lost in a readable beach.
