‘Maybe I do’ trailer questions the value of marriage – The Hollywood Reporter
In the official trailer of Vertical Entertainment My body will workThe value of marriage was discovered by a newer relationship and the two couples were married many years ago.
The film, written and directed by Michael Jacobs, features an all-star cast, including Emma Roberts, Luke Bracey, Diane Keaton, Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon and William H. Macy.
The recently released trailer begins with Michelle (Roberts) getting ready to receive a bouquet of flowers at her friend’s wedding when her boyfriend, Allen (Bracey), jumps out to block the bouquet. “I grew up wondering if I could stand in front of someone and promise her a lifetime, and here we are,” Luke Bracey’s character says in the trailer, explicitly questioning whether he’s Are you ready to make that commitment?
When Michelle gives Allen an ultimatum, they each ask their parents for marriage advice and decide that it’s time for Michelle’s relatives, played by Keaton and Gere, to meet her father and mother. Allen, played by Sarandon and Macy. What they don’t realize is that their parents actually know each other too well – both intimately and emotionally. They all begin to ponder commitment, marriage, and love, with Allen asking a central question in the trailer: “How do I know if I love her?”
