Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes reacts to Chelsea goal goal with Sonic the Hedgehog reference
Manchester United superstar Bruno Fernandes likened AC Milan’s Chelsea-linked striker Rafael Leao to Sonic the Hedgehog after his goal against Salernitana.
Defending champions AC Milan continues their Serie A campaign after the 2022 FIFA World Cup with a trip to Salernitana on Wednesday (January 4). Leao, who is being strongly linked with a move to Chelsea for £86m, was on the scoresheet in the 2-1 win.
In the tenth minute, he had a quick dribble on the left wing inside, overtaking Salernitana’s legendary Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa and netting.
As TalkSPORT reported, the Manchester United superstar Fernandes watched his compatriot Leao play on Wednesday and shared a clip of his goal as an Instagram story. Fernandes, who played in United’s 3-0 win over Bournemouth, also added an emoji of famed speed runner Sonic the Hedgehog to praise Leao’s quick run that led to the goal.
Five minutes after Chelsea scored, Sandro Tonali doubled the lead for Milan. Federico Bonazzolli scored for the hosts in the 83rd minute to make the game exciting, but the defending champions held on to the win.
Leao also shone for Portugal at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, scoring three goals in five games before they were knocked out by Morocco in the quarter-finals.
