For most of us Nintendo fans, Level 5 holds a special place in our hearts. Mid Professor LaytonS, Inazuma Elevensand Yo-Kai Watcheses, chances are we’ve all come across the studio at least once or twice during our gaming days. Now, it looks like a new IP is popping up.

Shared in the company’s ‘Happy New Year’ card (one of many made by Famitsu), Level-5 announced that in 2023 we will get a lot of new news. This will include details about upcoming Inazuma Eleven: Heroes’ Path to Victory (if this title hangs aroundie), as well as including a brand new IP.

The following announcement is provided by Google Translate services, where the studio reveals what will happen in 2023:

This year, our 25th anniversary, we’re taking on new challenges! In addition to new information about ” Inazuma Eleven “, we’re also planning to announce a brand new work, so stay tuned!

Of course, the chance for this “new work” to be released in the West is extremely slim. Level-5 has announced that it is “virtually paused” North American production branch back in 2020, there is no indication that any release will appear outside of Japan in the near future.

Just last week, we got a closer look at the upcoming Inazuma Eleven game with a Brand new game trailer, though whether the game will be released in the West remains unclear. Perhaps some announcement for 2023 – Level-5’s 25th anniversary, nothing more – will give us some more information on when and where new projects will be released. But for now, at least, we’ll have to be content with wondering what the new IP will entail.
