Killer Mike’s Barbershop offers 160 free haircuts for kids

The capital city of Atlanta. –

Fulton and DeKalb counties begin their first day of school on Monday and The Swag Shop is making sure their students look fresh for their first day.

The swag shop is where you might see musicians or athletes messing up their hair, but on Saturday it was kids getting a new haircut.

George Mathis, a 10th grader, said: “Not being able to go to school looks awful.

The Witherite Law Team and V-103 have partnered with Rapper Killer Mike’s barbershops to get kids in Fulton and DeKalb County ready for their first day of school on Monday.

“It’s a self-esteem boost. You know, feeling your best, looking your best, showing off that first day of school, making that first impression…it goes a long way,” Kimm White, general manager of The Swag Shop said.

With inflation currently above 10 percent, the groups want to make sure parents can afford everything their kids need to go to school.

“Real essentials that a lot of people can really afford, so if we can make it a little easier for families, just something they don’t have to worry about, something that kids don’t have to worry about, says Adewale Odetunde, a lawyer with Withrite Law Group.

A difference for almost 200 children, including Mathis. How does he feel about his new cut?

“It’s hard.”

High praise from a teenager.
