Coronation of King Charles III is coming to us, and it’s a once-in-a-lifetime event. Even though Charles is the winner, all eyes are on Kate Middleton to see what she would choose to wear. This morning, coming into view, Kate Middleton’s coronation outfit looks as gorgeous as ever. She can be seen wearing a striking white dress by Alexander McQueen, who also designed her wedding dress. She complemented the dress with a vibrant cape and a Jess Collett x Alexander McQueen headdress. Both her dress and hat match Princess Charlotte’s coronation dressand the mother-daughter duo wore headpieces in lieu of the traditional diamond tiara as a nod to King Charles III’s focus on environmentalism.
Middleton’s coronation outfit is full of icons. The dress features embroidery representing the four countries including Great Britain with images of roses, thistles, clover and daffodils. And her jewelry is a nod to both of them Diana Princess And Queen Elizabeth. She wore pearl and diamond earrings from the late Princess of Wales as well as a George VI Festoon necklace that once belonged to Queen Elizabeth II.
Kate Middleton’s earrings were actually a gift from King Charles III to the late Princess Diana before their wedding day in 1981. They feature a diamond horseshoe design studded with baguette diamonds encased in one. diamond leaf and a pearl drop hanging from the earlobe. Princess Diana previously wore these earrings to an event at the Barbican Center in London in 1990, and Middleton wore them to the event. BAFTAs in 2019.
As for George VI’s iconic Festoon Necklace, it was crafted in 1950 at King George VI’s request for his daughter, Princess Elizabeth, by Garrard, the crown jeweler. The necklace, made of 105 diamonds, is an heirloom from King George VI’s mother, Queen Mary.

It has a conservative silhouette, is made with a fitted royal blue fabric, and retails for just over $500. That said, she opted for historic earrings for the occasion, borrowed from her husband’s late grandmother, the Queen Mother, and wore a pair of diamond and sapphire fringed teardrop earrings that previously which she wore to a state reception in 2019. She completed her look with the iconic Lover’s Knot Tiara tiara, which belonged to her late mother-in-law, Cong. Princess Diana.
