Ja Morant is being sued for allegedly assaulting a minor during a basketball game at his Tennessee House in July.

The 17-year-old went on to say that Morant then “continued to pin him as he lay on the ground,” and that another man eventually jumped in and started hitting him.
The teenager had “a big knot” on his head after the attack, officers noted the victim’s injuries.
Morant told officers he acted in self-defense against the teenager, who threatened to “light up his house”
Police said Morant admitted hitting the teenager but insisted it was all in self-defense.
The NBA player allegedly said that the plaintiff threw a basketball at him “intentionally” during the argument, before “approaching (ing) him as if he wanted to fight.”
Morant added that “his brother” was another man involved in the melee, but would not give his name to police.
According to TMZ Sports, the final match was dispersed by the audience shortly after it started.
Morant also told officers that the teenager had “made verbal threats that he would ‘light up his house'” when he was escorted out of the compound, the newspaper reported. .

Police “advised (that) Morand and his family were appalled by this statement.”
An investigation was underway, but the district attorney ultimately refused to prosecute Morant .
A police investigation followed for several weeks before the case was formally filed with the district attorney’s office on October 4, however the DA ultimately refused to prosecute Morant.
Court records show Morant, as well as his childhood friend Package Davontelisted as the defendant in the case, but it’s unclear what the plaintiff is looking for in the case.
