Incubator Revealed – Living in Yellow

Hello friends! Katy is from the group LIY! We are expecting our first child any day….um, as I write this my due date was actually yesterday 😅. I guess babies decide when they’re ready to show up, right?! (Spicy food suggestions and all the wise stories to start labor.) With that said, I’m excited to show you our little boys nursery! Obviously he won’t be sleeping here for the first time in his life, but that nesting instinct is POWERFUL and I *NEED* get it done before he gets to HA (my poor husband)! My inspiration for this room started without a theme and just a color palette: light blue, navy, white and gray (this sign [LIY15 for 15% off] from Erin captured perfectly). As I started the decorating process, I also started adding some mountains to the theme! Hint: his name is related to “out West”! ⛰️ I’m so excited with how things are going and can’t wait to spend time here with our baby…💙

Paint color used: Gray is Valspar “Wheels Up” and blue is Valspar “Deja Blue”

ps I still need to buy and hang the blackout curtains, so I will exchange the pictures when I run out!

Lyric sign [mine is Aged Barrel frame color, size 20×30] // Analog end table // Analog end table // Blooming baby’s resting place // Analog lamp // Frame // Swing coaster // Analog pillow // Rainbow art [LIY15 for 15% off]

My husband and I are also singers/songwriters and met while playing music. On his last album, he wrote a song called “Bluebird” for his future child. This framed painting from The Modish Home is usually dedicated to wedding lyrics to give as a Wedding or Anniversary gift, but for our Nursery I wanted to get one of these songs. !

I also love this rainbow sign so much! Not only does it make a lot of sense to us, but it also works perfectly for our nursery palette. Lots of colors and sizes available! Use code LIY15 to save 15%.

Cribs // Carpets [6’7″ x 9’6″] // “Welcome to my crib” sign // Analog light // Analog bookshelf // Wicker basket

Carpet [6’7″ x 9’6″]

I can’t tell the whole journey I took to find this perfect nursery rug 😂 I’m talking HOURS to roll, my friends and family laugh at me and it happens. I really put my heart and soul into this one, but it’s out of stock and has been around for quite some time. However, the actual one in the room is VERY similar and I think it’s very cute and ties the whole room together! I was very excited about it!

Cribs // “Welcome to my crib” sign // Crib mattress // Crib sheet // Waterproof pad // Similar Navy pillow

Don’t worry, when the boy actually sleeps here, all the extra stuff in the crib will be gone! Now all because of a cute and cozy vibe!

Similar Bookshelves // Wicker Baskets // Striped Baskets // The Sign “I Am God’s Masterpiece” // Books in Collection

This is a special piece for me as this bookshelf was mine as a kid and I’m so excited to pass it on to our son! Also, my friend painted a framed picture of the mountain and it’s something that I will treasure forever! I’m using the basket to hold the toys and the extra bed!
