Australia’s Harrison Crowe has earned a spot in the Masters Championship and Open Championship in 2023 after making it past the final round to win a single shot at the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship Duong in Thailand.
The 21-year-old took a two-stroke lead after the third round but missed three shots on Sunday’s nine openings to lose three times to China’s Bo Jin.
However, Crowe then picked 4 birdies on 5 holes 11 to 15 and took the lead at 17 after Jin found water and hit the third doubles.
Crowe finished the final game 13 and confirmed a place in the major tournaments at Augusta National in April and then Royal Liverpool in July.
Crowe said: “I don’t think it has sunk in but it feels great right now. [I have] goosebumps, it’s absolutely amazing.
“I came here this week with something to prove and I’m so proud of myself. I was in it. It took a lot of digging to get there.”
Crowe will now enter the Masters arena alongside defending champion Scottie Scheffler and an Open championship with compatriot and 2022 winner Cameron Smith.
