A big part of our work in the goop fashion department is being distracted. It is advisable. That’s because curating the latest and greatest in art, culture, travel and — of course — fashion is how we keep inspiration high. We’ve created this column to share our ongoing collaborations, cultural touch-point exhibitions, notable store openings, and anything else that we’re interested in. I hope to get you as excited as we are.

In this edition: an East Hampton soiree to celebrate Gucci’s new resort collection, a Louis Vuitton steam box for workout classes, slanted with Hermès accessories (yes, yes). , really), and more.

GUCCI IN HAMPTONS

Open Monday summer as a permanent outpost, The Gucci store in East Hampton—All the ocean blue walls, plush velvet armchairs, rattan furniture, and gorgeous brass fixtures — stocked with everything you need to immerse yourself in every last moment of the season. You’ll see monogrammed bucket hats (how cute?), a red-white-blue two-tone that’s perfect for Labor Day weekend (after all, summer of suit sets), and a chevron-striped beach jacket finished with rich leather trim and location-specific tags. It’s all part of the brand resort collection, it was celebrated with a great no-no-nothing-so-great soiree at stylist Elizabeth Saltzman’s home. Mark Ronson DJ’ed. Local wine from Wölffer is flowing. The modernist structure designed by Richard Meier in the residence is lit up after dark. Like we said: great.

FASHION MEET FIT

Three premium brands enter the world of fitness.

HERMÈSFIT

Earlier this month, Hermès took over the Hollywood Athletics Club for a four-day event called HermèsFit. The space — home to a climbing wall, boxing ring, bench press and branded dumbbells — is rendered entirely in maison’s iconic orange. Also on-site are: photo booths, fresh juices, and workout classes with Hermès accessories (think stretching with H-belts, kickboxing with bracelets). Be gullible? Right. Luxe? That too.

While this collaboration isn’t exactly breaking news (launching June 7), we think it deserves to be included because it’s iconic. NEW JEWELRY ARRIVED TO GOOP STORE

Our buyers are constantly looking for the coolest brands across every category. This month, they won gold.

CECE JEWELERY

After earning art history degrees and internships at both Christie’s and Sotheby’s, Cece Fein Hughes began designing jewelry in 2018. Her iconic hand-glazed pendant and ring — inspired by The painted armor of the Celtic warriors and the gilded hats of the Byzantine princesses, along with her love of fairy tales and animal pets — is highly symbolic and profound.

YVONNE LÉON

Yvonne Léon grew up in a family of jewelers, so becoming one was inevitable. The Parisian girl finds inspiration all around her — at flea markets, museums, vintage stores, even in her grandmother’s jewelry box — and creates sophisticated, cool designs for women. modern. We especially like her necklace, which has a link size and mixed metal for an interesting effect.

LOUIS VUITTON X SUSAN MILLER TRUNK

Anyone with even the slightest interest in astrology knows Susan Miller and has likely visited her Haunted Astrology Zone (and apps, books, etc.) profound about the celestial body. For this project, Miller contextualized Monsieur Vuitton’s work in Monsieur Vuitton’s life with one of her signature star charts—a fascinating read. Then she reconstructed what the solar system looked like the morning he was born, 200 years ago, and placed it inside — what else? —A tree trunk. The puzzle piece is part of travel exhibition of the 200 trunks designed by visionaries from Frank Gehry to Gloria Steinem (there’s even one designed by LEGO). Next stop: Beverly Hills.

DROGHERIA CRIVELLINI FOR ATTERSEE

Some of our favorite collaborations are unexpected ones. Case in point: Attersee, a newcomer from NYC with a penchant for linen, stripes, and Gustav Klimt, and Drogheria Crivellini, an Italian shoemaker with a deep commitment to sustainability and a history dating back to 1955. The skate and Mary Janes collection stays true to both brands — and looks cute doing it.
