Frostpunk developers reveal what’s changed at the PC Gaming Show

Frostpunk and This War of Mine developer 11 Bit Studios revealed its newest game at the PC Gaming Show, The Alters. While the trailer doesn’t showcase any gameplay, it does establish the core idea of the game, focusing on Jan Dolski, a worker faced with circumstances that brought him to a life-changing crossroads. life.

After landing on a distant planet, Dolski creates alternate versions of himself to help him survive. Each Alter exhibits different skills and personality traits as a result of which he has made different decisions throughout his life. 11 Bit Studios describes the game as focusing on small and binary decisions that usually happen in nanoseconds but have the potential to affect the entire lifespan.

“These are not clones. They are alterations. Alternate versions of the same person,” explained The Alters game director Tomasz Kisilewicz. “Each changer has a different set of skills needed to achieve success, but the player must take care of each of them. And each of them has a unique personality due to their unique life path. How those paths of life go and how those relationships are built – is entirely up to you as a player.”

Players will be able to investigate a mystery through each Alter’s unique lenses when the game arrives on PC, though an exact release date is yet to be fixed.
