Years ago, a version was never officially released Warcraft A point-and-click adventure game developed by Blizzard in the late 90s has been leaked online. While the game was completely playable at the time, its cutscenes are low quality, heavily compressed, not perfectly synchronized with the audio, and some are even missing right from the leak. Now, after years of working on it, someone has retouched all the cutscenes, fixed them, and made it easier to experience a bit of this video game history.

As discovered by Indie Classic News and PC Gamersmodder DerSilver83 recently released completed 1.0 release of WACRP (Warcraft Adventures Cutscenes Remastered Project). The mod contains 20 completely remastered cutscenes, two of which didn’t actually exist in the original leak but were later released via another DVD leak.

You can see an example of what this mod and its improved cutscenes look like in the video below:

According to the modder and the project website, a lot of work has been done in this version. Apparently, DerSilver83 manually removed all compression artifacts from all cutscenes. Modifiers also use Photoshop to carefully redraw the entire frame and content, frame by frame. Continuity issues have also been fixed and some new transitions have been created entirely from scratch. All audio has also been synced and everything now runs at exactly 12 fps.

All told, DerSilver83 says they’ve been working on this mod for about six years, and this latest 1.0 release represents the end of the project. They explained in a post on July 31 that they did all they could within what they called a “reasonable time frame” and were satisfied with the end result.

DerSilver83 says: “I want to remember this project as something fun before it turns into something of a burden. on the project website. “So this is it. The final release of my Project Cutscenes Remaster and I hope everyone using it can enjoy it as much as I do. I’ve always wanted to make a substantial mod for a game. play that I love and I can finally say that I have achieved (or at least tried) it”.

To actually play this game you will need to do some internet searches to find the appropriate files needed to play the full game, because this mod only contains remastered cutscenes and nothing else.
