Ezra Miller seeks treatment for ‘mental health problems’

NEWYORK –
After a series of arrests and erratic behavior extending from Hawaii to Vermont, “Flash” actor Ezra Miller said they have begun treatment for “complex mental health issues.”
29-year-old Miller, who has been identified as non-binary, released a statement late Monday. On September 26, Miller will appear in Vermont Superior Court after being charged with burglary in Stamford, Vermont. Authorities last week said Miller took several bottles of alcohol from a residence while the owner was not present.
“Recently going through a stressful time, I understand that I am experiencing complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment,” Miller said in a statement. “I would like to apologize to everyone that I have warned and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the work necessary to get back to a healthy, safe and effective in life.”
Miller was arrested twice earlier this year in Hawaii, including for disruptive and harassing behavior at a karaoke bar. The second incident was due to second degree assault.
The parents of Tokata Iron Eyes, 18, a Native American activist, earlier this year filed a defense for Miller, accusing the actor of grooming their child and other inappropriate behavior towards her as a child. is a minor from 12 years old Tokata. Iron Eyes refuted that.
Representatives for Miller did not respond to a request for comment on those allegations or previous arrests.
Miller’s personal troubles are a particularly pressing issue for Warner Bros. and DC Films. After appearing in several “Justice League” films as The Flash, Miller stars in an upcoming independent film about the speedy superhero due out next summer. Principal photography on “The Flash” was completed last year. David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros. has said that the studio is committed to releasing the film.
