Companies with 4-day workweeks are hiring right now
The four-day work week there is a moment.
Several recent studies, including one that followed nearly 3,000 workers in the UK, show when companies switch up to a four-day workweek, workers’ productivity, health, relationships and even finances improve. California Representative Mark Takano recently reintroduced The 32-Hour Workweek Act in Congress too, this would change the definition of a working week from the current 40 hours if passed.
“While the concept of the four-day workweek is not entirely new, there’s no denying that the model has huge momentum and interest,” said Doug Ebertowski, career expert at FlexJobs. The idea is gaining traction, he said, and “along with the fact that employers have become much more creative in their approach to attracting great workers, they can be which means we could see the four-day workweek here continue.”
Whatever the future holds for the trend to become the norm, some companies are doing it as their schedule right now. FlexJobs, which focuses on flexible and remote roles, has identified a number of companies that have or are planning to adopt a shorter workweek. And they’re hiring. Here are 11 of those companies, including some of their open roles.

According to Yolanda Owens, career expert at Muse. With the exception of Panasonic, they are also smaller companies, “mostly under 1,000 employees,” she said.
“For smaller organizations, adopting a four-day workweek makes sense because it’s easier to get the parameters around that,” she says. “I think it’s a bit harder for larger organizations to do that just because of the scope and size.” The logistics of arranging that kind of flexibility for people in a range of roles can be difficult, she said.
“I don’t think you’ll see an Amazon adopting this any time soon.”
