Former Brazilian far-right president Jair Bolsonaro has been hospitalized with abdominal pain, his wife said on Monday, following reports that he was being treated at a Florida hospital a day after his supporters invaded. occupied the seat of power in Brasilia.
Brazil’s O Globo newspaper reported that Bolsonaro, 67, was admitted to the AdventHealth Celebration acute care hospital outside Orlando, Florida, where the former president was visiting for two days before ending his term on December 31.
Bolsonaro “is being monitored in hospital, due to abdominal pain stemming from a knife attack he suffered in 2018” during his winning presidential campaign, Michelle Bolsonaro wrote on Instagram.
