Emmy winners Billy Porter and Guy Fieri are in the passenger seat for the road trip comedy 80 for Brady.
The duo are among the cast of Paramount Pictures and Endeavor Content, starring Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno and Sally Field.
NFL star Tom Brady will appear and produce the film through his 199 Productions shingle. Kyle Marvin, independent film actor and screenwriter The Climb, directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Michael Covino, based on a manuscript by Smart book writers Emily Halpern and Sarah Haskins. The project has finished filming.
Inspired by a true story, Brady tells the story of four best friends and New England Patriots fans who take a life-changing trip to Super Bowl LI in 2017 to meet their quarterback hero, Tom Brady. Chaos ensues as they navigate the wilds of the biggest sporting event in the country. Tomlin, Fonda, Moreno and Field play the quartet. Fieri will star in the film, while details about Porter’s character are being kept under wraps.
Oscar-winning Donna Gigliotti produced with Endeavor Content, developed the script with Brady. Marvin and Covino will executive produce under their Watch This Ready banner, alongside Jeff Stott.
Grammy, Tony and Emmy Award-winning Porter, which is headed by CAA, Industry Entertainment and Felker Toczek, recently made a standout directorial debut on the show MGM. Anything is possible and is set to direct the quirky teen comedy Come true. Porter’s on-screen credits include an award-winning turn in the Ryan Murphy series Postureas well as Amazon’s Cinderella music, American Horror Storyand CBS Unlimited’ Twilight Zone.
Fieri, represented by WME, is the owner of the restaurant, The New York Times best-selling author and Emmy-nominated host of popular Food Network series like Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and Guy’s Grocery Game.
