Burkhalter hit five of the eight punchers he faced, including Boyd to take a ninth lead. Skipper beat four out of two innings, winning to improve to 6-3 for the season.

Picked seventh in the SEC West in the coaches’ pre-season poll, the Tigers are one of eight teams still vying for the national championship, along with Texas A&M division rivals Ole Miss. and Arkansas in Omaha this weekend.
