Apple has announced the new games it will add Video game subscription service in January. It will launch four new titles on the service this month, including one of the most exciting products from Game Freak and a new chapter of visual novels. All games launch on Friday, with the first game launching tomorrow, January 6.
The first game out this week is the latest episode in the visual novel Episode: Choose Your Story. Called Episode XOXO, it debuted with five new stories. Next week, followed by Illustrated, a puzzle game that combines tricky puzzles with jigsaw puzzles. Each puzzle provides the player with information about the artist who created the image.
Perhaps the most interesting entry is Pocket Card Jockey: Ride On!, an odd racing/card game from developer Pokémon Game Freak. Originally released on the 3DS in 2013, Ride On! see users play Solitaire while their chosen steed races. The outcome of the card game determines their position. Game Freak has also remade some scenes of the game in 3D. Sit on! launches on Apple Arcade on January 20.
To close out the month, Apple launched the physics puzzle game Squiggle Drop, in which users solve puzzles by creating a unique shape. Apple also revealed that it’s rolling out 50 Originals on Arcade by 2022 and over 300 updates. last year’s winner for Video Game of the Year is the fantasy life sim Wylde Flowers.
