Al Roker returns to TV after being hospitalized for a blood clot

After a two-month hiatus due to health complications, Al Roker—“America’s most trusted weather forecaster”—is set to return Today This weekend!
The announcement was made on Tuesday, and Roker is scheduled to appear on the beloved NBC show that airs on Friday.

Al Roker absent from ‘Today’ due to blood clot complications
Back in November, the beloved TV personality took to Instagram to share why he went missing from the TV show. Today Shows. Specifically, he revealed that he had been hospitalized for a blood clot in one of his legs, which “sent some blood clots into the [his] lung.”
“A lot of you have thoughtfully asked where I have been. Last week, I was admitted to the hospital with a blood clot in my leg that caused some of the blood clots to enter my lungs. After a few medical surgeries, I was fortunate to have excellent medical care and am on my way to recovery. Thank you for all the well wishes and prayers and hope to see you soon.”
Many stars have supported Roker below this upload, including Sunny Anderson, Hoda Kotb and Holly Robinson Peete.
Al later provided an update to share that, after being discharged and then re-admitted, he returned home on December 8. Notably, complications regarding His health caused him to miss the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade for the first time in 27 years.
A few days later, Roker appeared virtual on Today and let fans know that he appreciates the love and support, though he added that the situation has been “a tough tagline.”
“It’s a tough tagline, I won’t deny it. This is the hardest surgery – and you know, I’ve been through quite a few. But it does give you a deep sense of gratitude for these outpouring of prayers and thanks. I am a very lucky person.”
Al also shared that he is trying to regain his strength through physical therapy and that he feels better every day.
Thankfully, Al Roker will start showing TV screens again starting January 6th!
