Take a deep breath, Jets fans. Like Aaron Rodgers famous once said, “Relax.” All is well with Zach Wilson.
Since returning from a meniscus tear and a bone bruise in his right knee, Wilson has only thrown one touchdown in four games. His passer rating is 73.6, 28th in the league during that period. In the past two games, Wilson has thrown for 110 and 121 yards.
Jet fans, of course, have big worries past the previous first round draft selection.
So it’s time to take a look. Since returning to Week 4, Wilson has thrown for 693 yards, placing 19th in the NFL in that time frame, slightly below average. Most importantly, he has avoided overturns, throwing only two interceptions and zero interceptions in the past three games.
Most of the complaints stem from his performance against the Packers and Broncos, which was not pretty. But Wilson’s struggles against the 2nd and 4th pass defences shouldn’t be overblown.
