Prime Video’s Lord of the Rings TV show is halfway through its first season. Here’s how it creates a tragic ending.
We’re officially halfway through Season 1 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power – and make no mistake, there’s still a lot of mystery on the table. The Second Middle-earth Era is as vague as ever and, with four more episodes left in this season – and a five-season series already planned – it’s safe to say we’ll have to keep guessing. some time now. But it could be, with these four episodes we’ve got plenty of clues and hints to start making some educated guesses about these characters’ futures.
Rings of Power has tons and tons of foreshadowing with every member of its massive cast – from the little details to the major plot points, it’s unafraid to tease what’s to come. happen. Some of these hints are easy to spot – scholar Tolkien doesn’t need to know that the Dwarves’ Mithril mining operations will end in tragedy – but others are a bit more obscure. And some, we won’t be able to help but mention, maybe even the red strings are meant to play with our expectations for future seasons. There’s absolutely nothing to say that Rings of Power can’t dodge and evade the established mainstream elements of the Second Age and shatter some of our expectations. We simply don’t have enough information to know.
